Haag's industry changing HCI-Wind Damage program is now available to qualified individuals online for the first time!

The HCI-W course was introduced to the industry back in 2014, since then Haag has certified 18,000 roof inspectors in the US and Canada.

This course will teach you inspection techniques on assessing damage to an entire building system after a wind events: roofing, siding, exterior envelope systems, supporting  structures, and foundations

  • Roofing
  • Siding
  • Exterior Envelope Systems
  • Supporting Structures
  • Foundations

The course also covers an in-depth study of how wind forms and the characteristics of different types of wind events, providing a detailed explanation of their varying effects.  You will learn how to distinguish conditions caused by wind from conditions caused by other factors (including wave action, foundation settlement, and/or mechanical contact).

Completing  this course will make you a more accurate, fast and confident roof inspector of steep slope/residential roofs!

Please note that this course does require the student must have earned the HCI-R or HCI-C designation OR have completed 100 wind damage inspections as the primary inspector.  You will be asked to verify experience and provide references who can also vouch for your experience upon registration.  Haag does perform random experience verification audits.

A live, online proctored exam will be administered at the completion of the course. This will require a computer equipped with a webcam and proper system minimum requirements. You have up to 4 hours to complete it and must pass with a minimum score of 70% to finalize your certification. If you score below 70% on your 1st attempt, you will only be allowed one retake exam.
