This course will give students the fundamental concepts of soil behavior and an overview of structural parameters necessary to understand the response of pier and beam, concrete slab, and basement foundations. Additionally, students will be provided the necessary background and recognized research data to evaluate, identify, and classify damage caused by various environmental factors and the accidental discharge of water. This course will discuss repair options for these types of foundations.
